I am writing a Windows interface for ICC/FICS called ZIICS 2.00. This will not be a free or shareware program. The ICC has 'tickets' which allow the server to control who uses a commercial interface. So far, only Strat Labs' Internet Chess for the Mac uses tickets. ZIICS 2.00 will probably use ICC tickets. FICS has no ticket system, and seems to be opposed to adding one. My alternative copy protection scheme would limit the user to running ZIICS 2.00 to a specific hard disk. Is this acceptable? For the latest information on ZIICS, go to http://www.mindspring/~amcfar.
