The GNU hashtable are cleared every move, Pawnhashs every game IIRC.

It is very simple to add the appropriate write and read statements to preserve
the pawnhash, so I gave it a try. This seemed to help (a little bit). I figure
there can't be 'that' many pawn positions in the analysis of a typical chess
game - so let's save 32 Mb's worth.... I'm not sure it is worth the disk space.

Anyone have any figures for legal (and likely) pawn layouts, my back of the
envelope calculations vary enormously.

Similarly the hashtable wipe can be skipped, but this eventually causes some
glitches for reasons I've since forgotten.
