It doesnt know about the 3 fold repetition rule! That's also what Falcon does, and I believe several other engines also do. When running in WinBoard, Falcon checks in main() for threefold repetition, but when running under UCI, it leaves the draw detection for the interface (as it should be). Trying to drill into the engine brain to know whether it really knew about the draw or not looks like some kind of Spanish inquisition! What counts is that the chess playing system under the name Jonny, did announce threefold repetition. P.S. If we are in the business of ignoring the interface, then we must ignore all the book moves, as the interface makes them while the engine is dead asleep :) > >Greetings, >Steffen.
