It is good that you responded to that request and expressed your impressions and
understandings in this matter.  Truly, we need more of that from those who were
there.  Especially revealing might be the comments of the operators and
tournament director who were directly involved.  We may never get that in this
forum.

Based on the limited information made available to this forum, several technical
programming issues have surfaced and been discussed.  Since the primary
participants in this forum are chess programmers, the issues of greatest
interest are of a programming nature.  The technical issues about engine versus
GUI characteristics have been clarified to some degree as a result of this
unfortunate incident.

Similarly, many of the chess programmers here are or will be participants in
"silicon versus silicon" competitions.  Procedural improvements are a matter of
keen interest.

If you have thoughts about these technical issues, please express them here.

Unfortunately, we are all human, so moralistic and philosophical issues also get
discussed, but that is not the main interest of most in this forum.

One question I would like to ask is:  Wasn't the tournament primarily a social
event?
