Hi Luis

One in
>particular is the Boris Handroid. It looks like a type writer with a chessboard
>where the keys are supposed to be!

you picK two of the rarest computers ever made
the Handroid was never actually released for sale to the public as the company
that made it(Applied Concepts)went out of business
there are only two known prototypes in existance today
the keyboard is on the right part of the unit

The one that I find the most appealing is
>the Tasc R40.

the R40 remains even today the strongest dedicated chess computer ever released
for sale.(ELO-2400..USCF-2600)it was made in 1993
legend has it that about 20-30 of these units were made but only about 7 were
actually sold
there are only 4 or 5 known owners today
the value is hard to say because this depends on if you can get one of the
owners to even sell it
but i would value it at about $6000-$7500 depending on condition

there are however MANY Tasc R30 units that were made.it is about 100 ELO points
weaker, looks exactly the same as the R40 and generally sells for about $1500
with the Sensory board

Steve

How much does something like that run?
