Probably not.  Like everybody else, I have certain talents in some areas,
and no talents at all in others.  For me, mathematics is one of the fields
where I probably have above average talent, but unfortunately I can't say
the same about chess programming.

I partly agree.  I think there is great potential in attacking strategic
game programming with a more abstract and theoretical approach than what
is currently common.  But I still lack the knowledge and experience in
computer chess programming to effectively apply my mathematical skills.
