LOL this is quite normal, you can enter a max bid say 2000$ if you know that's
what you will pay no matter what, but after you have done this the original
starting bid will still read, say 100$. When you then come an bid 200$ ebay will
automatically raise the bid for the person who entered 2000$ max bid by X amount
of $ up to 2000$. No scam.
