Nick,

You are absolutlely correct - - it's a l ttle unnerving for ebay "newbies" to
see their bid just "outbid" by a small amount ..I often bid a big amount upfront
as a psycological advantage, the other strategy is to snipe at the last moment -
they both have advantages and disadvantges...
