Hi there, I have fixed the (stupid) bug that made Kiwi freeze in Win98 and that's the only difference from the last version, because the few chess ideas I could try today have all failed miserably... I have also put online the source code for polling and reading input. It's a C++ class that uses multithreading (internally) so that's probably something different from the code that is usually seen around. Should work fine on Windows and Linux, with time I'll port the code on more platforms. The library is free to use. The only caveat is that it will detect if it's playing against Kiwi and if so will take about 50 Elo away from your engine. I think this is fair enough for getting the code for free (*). Ok, find everything on: http://www.ascotti.org/programming/chess/chess.htm (*) Naah... just joking! :-)
