I think that the question what works is more dependent on tricks that are used. I use aspiration window of 0.60 pawns(score-0.30 pawns,score+0.30 pawns) and I have simple rules how much to increase it in fail high or fail low but I did not test that this is optimal and I have no idea what is optimal. The only correct test that I can think about is by games and I need many games and I had no testing time to do it. I do not trust average depth because with different aspiration window pruning may be different because the decison what to prune is dependent on the window. Uri
