UCI is just junk and to many interfaces do to many weird things within that protocal. Chessbase is notorious for setting the hash size to 1M and I only expect things to get worse within that GUI. Personally I am not purchasing Fritz 9. I don't see how the new approach will offer me anything. I will be purchasing Hiarcs 10 only for the fact it may come with a UCI version that I can run with Polygot in Winboard. Fritz and Junior will not be coming out with UCI versions so I am highly doubting my purchase of those engines in the future. Why pay $60 CDN or more for an interface I already have and a somewhat stronger engine? Sorry.. not from me anymore. I will be purchasing Zappa 2.0 for the engine AND the interface. Hopefully there is something new and innovative that will spark some effort from all the other interface programmers out there. Peter
