Greets,
With the advent of GambitFruit 1.0 beta 2 (based on Fruit), and having on hand
as do most if not all posters here Gambit Tiger 2.0, as well as several versions
of Junior which can play some enterprising chess at times, I decided to move a
'special' tournament to thye front of the line. The tournament name, 05Dayffd99r
indicates the tournament being the 99th tournament being played on this computer
this year, the 'r' indicating the tournament is to obtain an intial rating for
at least one engine, in this case GambitFruit 1.0. The rating shown for this
engine is the rating obtained at the conclusion of the tournament. These
ratings, btw, are of course only my version.
As a whim, I threw together some new books, with gambit material inserted to
make the games at times a bit more entertaining to play through, and each engine
played with a different book. There may even be some novelties, not necessarily
improvements, in one or two of the games.
I'll post the games one round at a time, four games, so as to not use up too
much space. The only real surprise, I think, is that Junior 9 did not perform as
well as might be expected, ending near the bottom, and yes, that is really Fritz
7, not 8 or 9. If there is an objection to me posting these games here, I am
more than willing to not finish this submission.
