The actual hash tables used by the program are not set automatically. For most new programs setting the hash tables to 512 Meg at 40/1hr will not hurt anything. For blitz time controls I never use more than 64 Meg and usually only 32 Meg. Generally the longer the time control.. the higher the hash table settings to keep from filling the hash tables full.
