Why don't you try to tell precisely _how much_ files with _what_ extension you have stored _where_ on your HD? (Note, if you would really access tablebases from your CD drive only it would incredibly slow down your analysises and of course it wouldn't be practible for engine vs. engine matches at all, if you ever do such, I don't know) According to your newest answer in another thread you have just a very small subset of 5men (S8 CD) nalimov tablebases. All 3-5men together are > 7 GB, but this was e.g. posted several dozens of times already in CCC. Guenther
