Hi Anthony, well, unlike Uri I fully agree with you that Zappa should called Zappa, especially when you, the author, wants it. Afaik the "Deep" which many put before every MP-capabel engine is just a relict from older days where such engines were very uncommen. > No. I do not believe it. Shredder competed in the World Champs > as "Shredder" despite running on a quad; ditto for Diep, Zappa, and Crafty. Well, but it is sold as Deep Shredder even on it's homepage, same about Fritz or Junior. (I believe in marketing reasons here -> you know, somehow the doubling of the price must be explained... :) The funny thing is, that I really never heard somebody calling Crafty "Deep Crafty"... Maybe a good idea for the tournament organizers would be something like "Zappa" with an asterisk behind and later explain that it is running as MP-engine, so that those which follow the tournament can easier see the difference in used hardware. (Hehe, and still the current Deep before the name in Computerchess is something like getting "Sir" and "Knight" in the UK. How about "Sir" Zappa ? :) Still those programmers which got their childs MP-capable are a minority. Just my two cents... Greets, Thomas P.S.: You should be honoured with the "Sir" in Computerchess anyway, the WCCC was great show, like the last Dutch Open was.
