LOL. I think a parrot has more sense. At least when you teach it something it does eventually learn it if even only to repeat it over and over. I suspect Chandler corrupted the hash tables somehow when making/taking back moves in analysis mode or something like that. My Shredder 8 workd fine and NEVER announces mate in 11. Unfortunately there are some commercial engines with the type of problem that has caused this stir. Notably ProDeo 1.1 will announce Mate in 12 with this position and later announce Mate in 14. Again I suspect some problem with hash tables.
