Thanks!  It isn't quite as good as you think, though.  Fruit 2.1 and Spike
are both clearly stronger at blitz, and there are many others of approximately
the same strength as Glaurung (Naum, Pro Deo, Ruffian 1.x, WildCat, SlowChess,
Jonny, etc.).  Based on the data I have seen, I actually think that Glaurung
is somewhat stronger at slower time controls, but it is still clearly behind
Fruit and Spike.

But Uri is right:  I wasn't complaining about my own engine, which gets
a lot of attention.  I was talking about the average level amateur programs.

Thanks for the encouragment!  I don't quite share your optimism, but at
least I can promise that my program will continue to improve.
