Hi!

As far as I remember it wasn't possible to play illegal moves.
Christophe is right that C7 searched about 2 selective plys in level1.
Meaning it sometimes missed mate in 1.

Sometimes I still play with it and mostly I can mate it between 12 and 15 moves
on level2.

The program wasn't written by the Spracklens, someone else maybee remember who
was the programmer.
They began with Sargon1 for TRS-80.

It was able to solve most but not all mate in 2 and a few mate in 3!
