I agree with you, but I think we also have reason to respect the classic subset because it has such a long history. Lots of the great masters have devoted countless hours to the analysis of the opening position, finding great gambits and such. No reason to flush this down the toilet, I'm sure it has its own appeal, to some. At the same time there should be room to experiment and evolve the game. Surely there must be a bit of tolerance towards eachother? So how come things always turn black and white in here, can't we have CCC in colour? :) -S.
