I agree one shouldn't, but as to why he brought those flames on himself, it no doubt is his fault due to the quite cocky comments he made in his posts, such as: ---------------------------------- "more RAM than you would imagine" "Fruit 2.2.x is the easiest top engine to beat for a few years. Against F9, S9, my score (playing them under strictest conditions) is poorer than 50%, but I am working these upwards. But against Fruit 2.2.x (trial version), my score is now almost 80%, which is crushing. And I never use the non-chessic methods shown in your loss above. I win by squeezing it hard and not letting go and without allowing counterplay (as best I can). This technique does not work at all reliably against F9 and S9 because (as a "patzer", of course!) I am not perfect at squeezing hard without letting go and banning counterplay." ---------------------------------- Since I'm sure IMs and GMs aren't trying to beat the engines in a tactical slugfest, the last paragraph quoted above suggests he plays more competently than they, and at 3min blitz no less. BTW, I looked for the posts where he supposedly repeatedly calls himself a patzer, and couldn't find it. At best he says "we are all patzers" at one point. I may have missed it though, as I don't feel like reading every single one of this guy's stuff. As to more inflammable material, suggesting he does NOT regard himself a patzer: ---------------------------------- "the game is certainly no showcase for my abilities. So I cannot be again accused by the trolls of boasting or whatever." (the quote may seem odd due to the disclaimer, but talking about one's 'abilities' is not an exercise in humility) "Below is the whole game, but please scroll down for some light illustrated commentary, aimed at the 1500-rated player. As every one of my chessic _critics_ on this board have demonstrated no more understanding than that of a 1500-player (if anything, I am being a little too generous here)" ----------------------------------- In fact, the fellow is anything but humble. Just commenting. Albert > > /S > > > > >> >>Best >>Steve >> > > > > > > >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >>> >>> Albert
