The Truth has spoken trought your lips, Steve. It is precisely as you have said.
I have no qualms with the many guys here that enjoy observing those inane fights
between engines, but I do not understand them. I suppose it has to do, also,
with the quality of the new generations. These guys has been born in the middle
of infinite amount of technical stuff and gadgetery and so they behave in a
different way as we do. For us machines are something external to real life,
then at most We USE them as inert tools; the kids, on the contrary, LOVES them.
So they like to look its operations as if looking real personalities. And get
fun of it.
