I just quoted that from chessbase (from the link posted), I suspect it was the
engine also.
If it can somehow be documented it was in fact the interface, maybe that would
change things since Shredder would technicly be innocient.

It had a draw score and played the drawing moves, so its intention was clear.
The engine wanted the draw and the operator didn't allow it, that's the way I
see it.

Maybe the reason for the engine not claiming the repetition itself is because
it's playing in a GUI that does it for it.

Imagine the dilemma poor Jonny must have faced here, I'm glad it wasn't me that
had to choose between being a good sport and grabbing an extra half point.

I think the rules should protect operators in the future so they don't feel
obligated to throw the game in this manner.
